Concept Art preview of The Demon King character i designed for a client’s animation project i was hired to work on. Less tonal value here to achieve that “anime-ish / animation” style. This is the concept design we decided to go with because the client wanted a more medieval fantasy look than the previous anime concept sketches I put together for them.

‘DV1 Concept Art Sketch + Color Comps’
These are iterations of a character i designed (anime-ish style) for a client commission which ended up not making the final cut of the cast of main characters for their animation project i was hired to work on. As you can see for each design i sent different color arrangements to offer different moods for the character.

Nero | Animation Concept Art. Concept art i completed a while back for a client who commissioned me for an animation project pitch. got a chance to incorporate the type of anime style that i grew up on which was DOPE!!
Anyways, cant go too in depth about the history of this character other than it will be the story’s protagonist and hes a desert wandering warrior.
Orange Ball Speed Painting Study.
Took a small break from client work to practice lighting and rendering. had a few books open beforehand then jumped right into it. I started out with the greyscale as you can see below, felt it was a bit boring and wanted to take the opportunity to also practice some quick color theory so i went ahead and splash some color on it to focus on a spectrum of colors. warm colors forefront, cool colors background to POP! took a little over 30minutes to nail this beast down. thanks for viewing.
Another early concept cartoon design rendering i completed a while back for a client who commissioned me for an animation project that is now in development.
The left iteration is the girl in her “street style” clothes and iteration on the right is the character in her ‘meta-human’ gear with her superpower glow in effect. I’m sure you noticed that mr teddybear got sick and tired of being in her backpack all day and somehow transformed into a superpowered break-dancing robo-teddybear. LOL. thought it was a good idea. LOL
Ok. As you’ve read previously, im playing with a more animated style instead of my normal hyper-realism style. So only using flat/base color, core shadow, cast shadow, and highlights…was going for a simple cel-animation style. If you missed the other character i designed for the same project, see B.O.I. character animation painting
This is version 2 of an early cartoon animation concept art i completed a while back for a client who commissioned me for an animation project that is now in development. You will see from my upcoming works that I am taking on more projects which allow me to play around with different styles instead of my normal hyper-realism style. With this character, it is only using flat/base color, core shadow, cast shadow, and highlights…was going for a simple cel animation style.
Oh! I also did a little girl concept character and will release that in the next few days. Thanks for viewing and share with your friends!
